Job Summary:
This is a position for an individual who is hands on and loves the outdoors. The groundskeeper is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of outdoor areas to ensure they are clean, safe, and visually appealing. This role involves a variety of tasks related to landscaping, gardening, and general outdoor maintenance. There are 12 acres of main campus grounds adjacent to the beautiful 42 acre forest with trails.
Responsibilities:
Lawn Care: Mowing, edging, and watering lawns to maintain an attractive appearance
Plant Care: Planting, pruning, watering, and fertilizing trees, shrubs, flowers, and other plants
Weed Control: Removing weeds from flower beds, lawns, and other landscaped areas
Landscape Maintenance:Trimming hedges, bushes, and trees to promote healthy growth and maintain desired shapes
Trash and Debris Removal: Collecting and disposing of litter, leaves, and other debris from outdoor areas
Path and Walkway Maintenance: Sweeping, raking, and repairing paths, walkways, and other paved areas
Equipment Care: Cleaning and maintaining landscaping tools and equipment such as lawn mowers, trimmers, and leaf blowers
Seasonal Tasks: Performing seasonal maintenance tasks such as snow removal, leaf blowing, and applying winterization treatments
Safety Compliance: Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for oneself and others
Reporting Maintenance and Safety Issues: Identifying and reporting any issues or concerns related to the grounds or equipment to management
Customer Service: Being courteous and mindful of running or turning off machines around visitors

Education:
High School Diploma or GED required
Hands on experience in landscaping, gardening, or groundskeeping
Qualifications:
A strong work ethic, dependable, and time efficient.
Ability to listen and follow specific directions
Knowledge and experience of common landscaping tools and equipment
Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50lbs, climbing ladders, bending, and standing for extended periods
Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and seasonal tasks
Interest in environmentally-friendly practices
Clean criminal record, possess valid driver’s license
Upholds a pet, smoke, and drug free campus
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of small engine repair and maintenance of landscaping equipment

General Schedule:
Tuesday – Saturday, subject to change
Landscape Maintenance: 1 year (Preferred)
Ability to Relocate
