Delve into the profound yet simple wonders of Qi in the style of Waterfall Qigong, a collection of meditations and exercises gathered from the vast fields of wonderful moving, flowing or still forms of Taoist and Buddhist Qigong. Enhance vitality, strengthen immune function and awaken the healer within as we relax, cultivating life force, the inner smile. Disassociate yourself from complexity, align with the universe, cultivate HeartMind. Though we will not physically visit waterfalls, we will wash in the free fall of laughing streams of Qi.
Qigong is the ancient mother of all Asian healing traditions and one of the most eloquent and powerful methods of exercise and moving meditation. Research shows that Qigong supports health and healing, such as achieving good balance, stress reduction, healing after surgery or illness, pain relief, better sleep, enhanced intuition and creativity, bright eyes, efficient metabolism, and improved sexuality, fertility and longevity.
Qigong is also one of the few exercise forms that works on the human meridian system and emphasizes the importance of aligning mind intention and breath to physical movements. When these dimensions are added, the benefits of exercise increase exponentially.
Qi (Chi) is translated as vitality, life force, mystery or simply energy. Gong is translated as work, play, breath or cultivation. Tai Chi is a type of Qigong that includes long and short, beautiful moving forms that can be done standing, sitting or even lying down.
Join Steven Michael Pague, one of the founding members of Omega Institute for Holistic Studies and a lifetime student and practitioner of Qigong, in this weekend immersion. Steven will guide you in Qigong’s simple yet profound movements while you learn about its history, philosophy, and healing principles. Explore movements with names such as Collecting Stardust, Inner Rivers Flowing, Open the Gateway, Gathering Earth and Heaven, and Cutting Through to Clarity. Special attention will be placed on using breath, posture, and mind focus. Return home with your own personal practice and the inspiration to make Qigong an ongoing part of your life.
