Vision Quest sets up the healing space to invite individuals into their deeper questing in such a way that empowers them, with gentle, educated, guidance to the deeper healing that really opens their lives into their potential. Dr. Iyer creates a rich, symbiotic space with participants that is “on the ground” and simply present with what they bring – and what she brings in the way of tools and experience. Rich. Nourishing. Deeply transformative.
Mary Ann (Wallace) Iyer, MD, the featured faculty for this Healthy Lifestyle Seminar, recently relocated to Asheville, NC from Oregon, where she developed and was the Medical Director for the Integrative Medicine Program of Samaritan Health Services in the mid-Willamette Valley. Her book Heart is Healing, is closely related to this seminar. Her long-time passion has been to create classes and forums within which individuals can delve more deeply into the roots of illness and discontent – to make truly lasting changes in their lives for the better. In addition to her medical degree, Dr Iyer holds a master’s degree in psychology with an emphasis in holistic health, and a bachelor’s degree in nursing. As a pioneer in the field of mindbody medicine, she has extensive training and experience with numerous holistic healing modalities, including meditation, breathwork, imagery, dreamwork, acupressure, process-oriented psychology, vision quests, therapeutic touch, and herbology.
