The Dances of Universal Peace Part II of the Solstice Celebration
Date(s) - 06/21/2013
6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
The Dances of Universal Peace
Presented by Shemsuddin Stewart Millard, The Dances of Universal Peace are simple, meditative, joyous, circle dances that use chants, music, and guided movements. Pulling from the earth’s many spiritual traditions by using sacred phrases, chants, music, and movements these dances touch the spiritual essence within ourselves so we can recognize it in others.
Building on the work begun by Samuel L. Lewis in the 1960s, the dances promote peace and integration within individuals and support understanding and connection within groups worldwide. There are no performers nor audience; new arrivals and old hands form the circle as everyone sings and dances together.
Sliding fee $15 – $25 or donate what you can.
