Class Information: In this gentle class, students are invited to soften and surrender to a journey within for improved vitality and overall well-being. Through a sequence of meditation, relaxation techniques and nourishing poses for the body, this class is a great way to unplug from mental and emotional stimulation and truly pamper oneself.
Bio: Rene has been practicing yoga for over 20 years. Drawn to the devotional aspect and what she saw as a moving prayer, her practice began with Hatha yoga at that Sivananda Vedanta Center in N.Y.C. After a severe spinal injury that medical treatment could not heal, she was led to the therapeutic approach of Iyengar Yoga which nourished and restored the misalignments in her body, allowing her to live a normal life again. Her classes incorporate the flow of classical hatha yoga, the restorative benefits of Iyengar yoga and if appropriate, the rigor of ashtanga to address the student’s specific needs and goals. With a particular focus on restoring the body and mind through conscious awareness of their connectivity, students are invited to journey within for improved vitality and overall well-being, balance and harmony.
