Faculty: Osun Priestess, Yeye Omileye Achikeobi-Lewis, M.Ed

Yeye Omileye is an international author, spiritual teacher, African Caribbean fifth generation wisdom keeper, Ayurvedic Practitioner, Certified Hypnotherapist, licensed integrative psychotherapist, master mindfulness and meditation teacher.

She travels around the world

sharing teachings and ceremonies on how to live in balance with our waters, earth and the whole community of life. She is initiated as a Yeye Osun and Crown of Osun (international spiritual ambassador for Osun). Recently, Yeye Omileye received the title Iyalode Egbe (Head of All Heavenly Ancestors). She has also dedicated her life to teaching about the universal tradition that connects us to the great feminine, oneness, love and compassion. Her teachings draw her experience and knowledge of African, Caribbean, Tibetan Buddhism and other world wisdom cultures.

Yeye Omileye works alongside her husband Chief Olu Derrick Lewis. Both are the founders of the internationally recognized Humanity4Water Awards. Their work has been recognized by the united Nations and recently by His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Venerable Thupten Ndodup (Tibetan State Medium for the Nechung Oracle) – whom they received personal audience, blessings and initiation from.

Program Information:

The Lighting of The 16 Lights is a powerful ancient Osun celebratory ceremony dedicated to lighting the way for world peace and love. Every year the lights are traditionally relit to assist in re-awakening the sacred wisdoms on earth and within humanity.
Join Osun Omileye, OM Sanctuary Artist-in-Residence in this sacred evening as she and her husband Chief Olu and friends, guide participants in this powerful multicultural celebration of song, meditation, blessing, and the lighting of the lights ceremony.
Bring: Intention for harmony, fruit offering, candle, instruments, water from your area to mix with waters from other areas (this is a take home), altar items you may want blessed.
Community Potluck following Ceremony: Bring a dish to share.

Osun Omileye:

Chief Olu:

is an international spiritual teacher, Ifa priest, and a Duke graduate with African American and Cherokee roots. He draws on his unique expertise of IT Project Management, Sustainable Economics, environmental concerns, and spirituality to share his teachings and ceremonies. He works alongside his wife Yeye Omileye, sharing teachings on how to live in balance with our waters, earth and the whole community.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

Children are welcome but are expected to be respectful and with parents at all times. Please consider a donation at the door for your child’s participation.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

OM Sanctuary offers free parking but riding with a friend is recommended. Asheville has taxi and Uber service.

What can I bring into the event?

Dress comfortably for both indoor and outdoor activities. Take care of personal needs and bring your own drinking water.

  • Balance, purify, and deepen personal connection to inner power, your Ashe.
  • We experience Ashe when one clears away life’s blockages and perfectly aligns ones self with the womblike Chi of the universe.
  • Moving to the ‘live pulse’ of the drum offers individuals the opportunity to experience a greater inner force, as well as allowing lives blockages to fall away.

  • Sunday: Balancing the Ether. Discover the subtle and physical healing nature of the elemental mothers: Ether, Air, Fire, Earth and Water when they are in balance within your mind, body and outer world.

  • Discover inner and outer rituals that help you to balance the Mother Elements: Ether, Air, Fire, Water and Earth.
  • Experience tools to create a powerful intimate relationship with Mother Nature who nurtures the whole community of life.
  • The teachings will draw from African, other indigenous cultures, and all faiths.
  • Each class will include: opening and closing water blessing, various transforming sitting and moving, meditation, and the healing pulse of live drumming.
  • Dress comfortably.

Participants will be introduced to tools and experiences for honoring the mothers that spiritual leaders believe is necessary during these pivotal times.

Sacred Ceremony

Monthly Osun Beautiful Waters Ceremony

4th Sunday of each month,

Each month community is invited to gather for a Beautiful Waters Blessing at the French Broad River. Together we will give gratitude to the nurturing sustaining force of the Mother Water and to all the elements of life. The ceremony will bring us together to build compassionate community, send healing energy to ourselves, rivers, earth and all our relations.

At each Water Blessing community will:

  • Learn sacred African water songs
  • Lessons and sacred songs pulled from sister cultures
  • Learn to work with the healing power of water and the other elementals
  • Set positive intent for yourself and world
  • Connect deeper with nature
  • Honor the French Broad and all the waterways

Please bring a sweet fruit such as mango, banana, grapes, flowers or honey to offer to the waters and consider a monetary offering*.

*A percent of all proceeds go to help Yeye Omileye’s Osun River Project restoring the ailing source of the famous Sacred Osun River, Nigeria and OM Sanctuary’s percent will go to restoring the French Broad River Access. Ashe and in gratitude!

Yeye Osun Omileye, M.Ed., will offer private weekly sessions where participants can experience an individual Somatic Mindful Release sessions that allow for a deep shift within the mind, body and soul.
1 hour Life Assessment session including Somatic Mindfulness release

What is Somatic Mindfulness?

Somatic Mindfulness Release is a transformational technique using ancient mindfulness principles, breath work, and practices combined with cognitive behavioral science resulting in healing, skill building integration and deep release from life and emotional blocks. Techniques include sacred breath work, insight to ancient wisdom, contextual hypnosis skill building, energy healing, holistic advise and expressive arts such as Fluid Sand Tray.

Somatic Mindfulness is a research based approach to transformation that Yeye Osun Omileye slowly formed over many years as a teacher, healer and Masters in Counseling and Development graduate at Winthrop University. The Spirit of Mindfulness within the Somatic Mindfulness teaching program was developed by Omi and has been delivered within schools, mental health clinics, and to the South Carolina Palmetto Police Department.
